This is a beautiful antique pelmet that features a lovingly hand-beaded and needlepoint floral design. The colours are vivid and rich, set against the beige mesh background. The beadwork borders and embellishes the needlepoint, with glittering silver, gold, white and black.
The piece appears unfinished. The mesh portion border stitching has unravelled and the mesh could be stitched to a solid cotton backing. Only one side has black stitching that fills in the section above the floral design. The other side is unfinished and was left unfilled. This could be a nice project to complete, and add your own history into it!
Please read condition notes.
